Ark care Homes seeks to employ the best People to look after those most central to Ark Care homes - Our Clients. As such this year we were nominated for a North Devon Plus Award and received the Runners Up prize for Valuing our People.

We aim to provide excellent Care Plans which are progressive, individualised and truly person centred.

Ark Care Homes Places are homely, comfortable, inviting and of the highest quality in order to create the best possible therapeutic environments for the individuals in our care. 

Care for Adults with learning disabilities

At Ark we specialise in the care of young adults (18 - 65) with Severe Learning Disabilities, Autism, Aspergers Syndrome and Behaviours that Challenge; we provide individually tailored programmes of support for each client. All our homes are carefully and tastefully designed and equipped to meet the requirements of our clients.

Acorn House and Beachfield are in Westward Ho!, Acorn manor is in Bideford.  Our intention is to open a further 5 Residential Homes in North Devon over the next 5 - 7 years. We understand that our clients are all individual in their needs and aspirations. this expansion will enable us to extend and diversify the range of facilities and environments we can offer. details of all new developments will appear on this web site.

24 Hour support

At Ark Care Homes Ltd we believe in supporting our clients in a 'Homely' environment. we limit the size of our homes to achieve this. Many of our clients require high level ' around the clock' support. Our homes are staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year by a team of skilled and well trained support workers who are led by the Home Manager, qualified to at least NVQ 4/RMA.

We aim to provide care and support in such a way that enables our clients to maximise their independence and achieve the highest possible quality of life. We put great efforts into facilitating access to mainstream activities in order to provide our clients with opportunities to have real community presence and to develop social roles.

Our Vision

Ark Care Homes was formed in 2002 and is totally committed to providing Residential Care Services of the highest standards. We have a clear and simple aim, namely to provide Care without Comprise. Ark Care Homes Ltd  is currently in an extensive development programme. To date we have opened three Residential Care Homes with Beachfield the latest opened in April 08.
