Ark Nursing and Care Agency and Ark Care Homes

Ark Nursing & Care Agency is the largest, private, family-run nursing agency in North Devon.

Ark Nursing & Care Agency and Ark Care Homes was established by the late Rowena Rhead, a locally-born Registered Nurse who trained at North Devon District Hospital. It was through her work that Rowena identified a niche in the care market for the provision of first class care with a ‘family feel’ and went on to establish Ark Nursing & Care Agency in 2002 and later went on to provide our own Care Homes in 2003.

Since that date Ark has grown and in addition to our care agency in providing care to establishments and to people in their own homes, we now provide care in our own care homes in Bideford, Westward Ho!, Plymouth and Torquay.

Her daughters Katherine Glover and Rebecca Marks continue the business to this day continuing the high standards of care that the business was founded on.
